A few weeks after graduation, and already I am lucky enough to find a job! Valassis, the company where I worked as an intern, was kind enough to offer me a full time job this week.
Valassis is the country’s number one source for direct mail advertising. They reach something like 95% of the nations homes every week with their RedPlum (formerly Shopwise) Wrap, a shared mail package full of coupons, ads and menus for local businesses. They are also the guys responsible for the RedPlum coupon insert found in many Sunday newspapers. In early 2008, Valassis also plans to unveil redplum.com, a website dedicated to bringing consumers the same coupons and savings in an electronic format.
I’m really excited to be returning to Valassis. The work environment is great, and they really seem headed in the right direction as a company. As a desktop artist, my duties will include editing and updating preexisting ads, creating entirely new ads for clients, and everything in between.
